At CrossFit Never Forget, coaching is rooted in relationships, mechanics, and mindset. We lead with care, challenge limits, and believe every athlete is capable of more than they think. By prioritizing fundamentals, safety, and the CrossFit points of performance, we help athletes move well, stay functional, and progress with purpose.
Our mission is to connect deeply, coach intentionally, and create a space where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Whether it’s a first workout or a new PR, we celebrate every step and we walk it together. Because we don’t just build better athletes we build a stronger community.
The Coaches
Our dedicated team of experienced coaches is the heart and soul of our gym. Each coach brings their own unique skill set, background, and enthusiasm to help you master new techniques, overcome obstacles, and reach new heights in your fitness journey.

Canaan has been a CrossFit affiliate owner for over two years and found his calling in coaching after earning his Level 1. What started as a love for working out turned into something much deeper — a passion for leadership, mentorship, and community building. After unexpectedly stepping into a leadership role early in his career, he learned firsthand what resilience, ownership, and consistency truly mean. Those lessons now shape how he runs his gym and leads his coaches.
He believes consistency is the foundation of everything in fitness, in business, and in life.
“The workouts matter. The PRs matter. But what matters more is who you become in the process. CrossFit teaches you how to show up when it’s hard. It teaches you discipline. It introduces you to people who push you and believe in you. That’s what makes it powerful. Fitness is the vehicle — but community is the destination.”

Kensley is also known for her bubbly personality and ability to light up a room. She thrives on creating an environment where athletes of all levels feel welcomed, encouraged, and seen. In her freetime, she enjoys spending time outside and playing with her dogs. She also works as a social media manager & content creator outside of coaching her classes.

When he’s not on the coaching floor, Johnny enjoys spending time with family, hiking in the Smoky Mountains, and teaching piano lessons. His love for both music and mountains can be seen in his classes, where you’ll likely hear some Dolly Parton in the playlist.

With years spent focused on barbell training, LJ has a sharp eye for mechanics and efficiency. He’s known for breaking movements down in a way that makes sense, meeting athletes where they’re at, and making sure they understand why something feels better or moves smoother. Once the workout starts, the vibe shifts—lighter, looser, and energetic—because training hard doesn’t have to mean being miserable.
LJ also has a strong interest in nutrition and weight loss, with personal experience improving body composition through sustainable habits. He emphasizes consistency, realistic expectations, and approaches athletes can actually maintain alongside real life.
His coaching style is approachable, detail-oriented, and often a little goofy. LJ wants athletes leaving class feeling accomplished, confident, and happier than when they walked in—because progress sticks best when people enjoy the process.

Starting his own fitness journey from scratch in 2017, Matt understands what it’s like to walk into a gym without prior knowledge or confidence. That perspective allows him to excel at meeting athletes where they are, helping them feel comfortable, capable, and empowered in their fitness journey. Known for his positive energy and sense of humor, Matt strives to make every class the Best Hour of the Day.
Outside the gym, Matt enjoys the simple things in life—especially spending time with his wife and son. He famously keeps his golf clubs in his car, because you “never know when you can sneak nine in.”
